Bae So-hyun, 31, used both taekwondo and track and field when he was a child. He first decided on his career as a golfer when he was in the third grade of middle school. He is athletic, but not a slugger. He managed to distance himself a little more than average. What unexpectedly made him a slugger was a back injury.

When I couldn't work out indoors during COVID-19, I ran hard. I hurt my back while training shots right away after running too hard without holding my core muscles.

Bae So-hyun recalled, "I had a hard time with a ruptured disc in my back for several years. I even wished that I would not get sick for a day. I was extremely sensitive and couldn't distance myself properly. I couldn't even take medicine during the season because I was worried that I might get a drug test."

Bae So-hyun has created his own way to relieve back pain through systematic exercise. Swing has also changed in a way that is less burdensome to the back. "Even now, it is not perfect, but the doctor was surprised to see such an improvement in a short period of time only by exercise."
Besohyun said, "I would say this is an unusual case. I realized the importance of core while rehabilitating because my back hurt a lot. Holding the core and swinging increased the distance and the ratio of static hits. Not only the driver but also all the shots improved together. Coach Lee Si-woo stresses to his players that if the distance does not increase, they are given away. It stimulates players not to stay complacent and not to stay. Those are the two reasons why they became good players in distance."

Lee believes that long-distance shots are necessary in order to continue active performance for a long time. "The average flying distance of tour players is bound to increase every year due to the development of equipment, professional physical training, and swing skills. If you don't increase the flying distance steadily, it will effectively decrease."

This year, Bae measures 235 meters or 245 meters or so if she decides to do so. This is the second highest level of long hitters in the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) such as Bang Shin-sil and Yoon In-na.

It was Park Hyun-kyung (24) who dubbed Bae So-hyun, whose driving distance has increased as she has gotten older. Golfers who are training with Lee Si-woo often practice during the winter off-season training. They can also increase competitiveness and learn the strengths of each other by making a light bet.

Park Hyun-kyung also took a leap forward by winning three games this year alongside Bae So-hyun, increasing the driver's distance by 5-10 yards during the Vietnam training camp. 메이저놀이터

Bae So-hyun still lives at the gym five days a week if there is no game. Her back is not stable yet, so she does a lot of core and balance exercises to support her back. And she exercises to expand her body's range of motion.

What advice do you give to weekend golfers who want to hit far away? "It's a difficult question, but first of all, I try to hit more than 100% of the distance on the practice field. That way, I can hit 100% on the course. If I try to hit a little more than my limit to the extent that I don't get hurt, I can do it more comfortably on the course. Then I can hit my maximum without changing anything."
